Individual Counseling
I am Jody, owner of “Therapy by Jody,” and have been providing therapy services for over 14 years to individuals, couples, adolescents, and families who
struggle with mental health issues. I am also a credentialed supervisor who helps teach, observe, and mentor new therapists as they work toward
their full licensure in New Jersey.
I am licensed as a Professional Counselor and also a National Certified Counselor, servicing all of New Jersey. My logo says “Explore the Difference,” and I want to share a bit about why this is so important.
Over the past five years from 2021 to 2026, New Jersey’s counseling workforce has experienced significant, steady growth. With so many of “us counselors” to choose from, the choices are many and from former client’s feedback,

and not everyone listens and has integrity."
Couples & Family Counseling
My greatest strength and gift, is to be absolutely present with my clients and attend to their needs with nothing else in my mind during our sessions except You! Being fully present for a client is the most important component of the therapeutic alliance and evidence supports the greatest outcomes are through the depth of the clinical relationship – whether with
individuals, couples, or children.
Not only am I experienced in counseling knowledge, theory, intervention, and technique, but my clients report an added component to our sessions that makes them different than what other providers can achieve. Most therapists list all the areas of diagnostic specialty along with various populations they work with. I don’t need to do that because I can work with almost everyone and consider myself a “generalist therapist,” who practices and is confident in my ability to assist all clients on their desired journey. I employ a vast toolbox of models, techniques, and interventions. I am always reading and
learning new skills. I love my work!
Hours of operation:

Insurance Information
Therapy by Jody accepts all New Jersey Medicaid and Medicare.
Private insurances include: Horizon, Aetna, Cigna, Optum United Healthcare, AmeriHealth, Meritain Health, and First Health.
We also accept: Third-Party ATAP, Tri-State Health & Welfare Fund, National Benefit and Pension Fund. Mental Health Consultants and Tri-Care are pending.
Unfortunately, we do not provide a sliding scale; however, self-pay is an option if needed.
